What is the best time in Arashiyama Hanatoro?
In Arashiyama Hanatoro, we can visit shrines and temples. Most of them accept us by 20:00. So, it would be better to be in Arashiyama around twilight.
Be at Randen Arashiyama sta. round 17:15!

We have lots of places to see in Arashiyama Hanatoro. So, choose places you want to visit. You cannot visit all of them in one day.

Introduction
It is so hard to decide itinerary because there are too many places to see. So, I’ll show you the best one I could offer.
17:00 Hankyo Arashiyama station
Now we are in twilight. Head for the bamboo forest by way of Nakanoshima park.
17:30 The entrance of the bamboo forest （The yellow alien in the map）
Around the yellow alien in the map, we can enjoy snacks in small shops. After that, get in the bamboo forest to Nonomiya shrine.
17:45 Nonomiya shrine
Nonomiya shrine is one of the famous shrines described in The Tale of Genji. The torii gate is a primitive one called Kuraki Torii which has bark. Torii gate doesn’t have bark as we see in Fushimi Inari Taisha.
It is illuminated only in Arashiyama Hanatoro.
Near Nonomiya shrine, bamboo trees are illuminated in white.
18:10 The end of the Bamboo Forest
The end of the green line, there is a flower symbol. It is the end of the Bamboo Forest.
On week-days, return to Randen Arashiyma sta. and go to Togetsu-kyo bridge.
On week-ends, go to Togetsu-kyo bridge along with the blue line in the map.
18:40 Togetsu-kyo bridge
At night, we have a stunning view of Togetsu-kyo bridge and Mt. Arashiyama. Enjoy it and take some snapshots.
19:00 Horinji temple
I’m not sure we can see the same night illumination and projection mapping in 2019.
At least, night illumination will take place.
Horinji has a large terrace. You admire extraordinary night view.

Introduction
The following are the events held in the last year. I suppose there are same kind of them in 2019 though we have no announcement yet. Open hours and entrance fee and other tings is to be changed.
Night illumination in Horinji temple
Horinji temple is stranger to you. This is a place only known among Kyoto-enthusiast though it is described in famous works like The Pillow Book.
As I introduced to you previously, it provides us with amazing night illumination.
Opening hours: Twilight to 20:30
Entrance fee; For free
Night illumination in Jo Jakkoji temple
Jo Jakkoji temple is famous for autumn leaves. We cannot enjoy them in Arashiyama Hanatoro, but enjoy tranquil night illumination.
It is located in a mountain and we have a good view of Kyoto city.
Opening hours: 17:00～20:30 (Enter the temple by 20:00)
Entrance fee; 500 yen
Night illumination in Hogonin temple
Hogoinin temple is open to public in a few weeks in spring and fall.
It has beautiful Zen garden and famous for fantastic autumn leaves. (The photos are taken in November. We cannot have the same view in December)

Night illumination in Rakushisha
Rakushisha is a tiny hut belongs to a poet named Mukai Kyorai. He learned Haiku from Matsuo Basho.

Night illumination in Nonomiya shrine
As indicated before, Nonomiya shrine is illuminated. We cannot visit it except this occasiton. It has beautiful moss garden.
