#8 Kiyomizu-dera temple 清水寺
Overview
The most popular destination for tourists. The renovation was completed in 2020.
Kiyomizu stage

In 2018, the main hall and a stage adjacent to it are under re-construction and covered wit huge cage. That’s the very rare view, enjoy it!
Before the re-construction and now
Don’t worry, we can admire Kiyomizu-dera without the cage.

- Open hours 6:00~21:30 (Entrance closes at 21:00)
- Entrance fee 400 JPY

#9 Ninnnaji temple 仁和寺
Overview
Ninnaji is the first Monzeki temple in Japanese history. Monzeki temple is a buddhist temple which is ran by a priest belongs to the imperial lineage.
From the garden
In the garden inside, we enjoy the dry garden and the pagoda with maple trees.
Near the pagoda, there are many beautiful trees in stunning red.

At Ninnaji, we can visit a restricted place near Kondo hall but the autumn leaves are extraordinary.

#10 Nison-in temple 二尊院
Overview
Nison-in is the most beautiful place in Arashiyama. In the grave yard, court nobles are buried. Ogura Hyakunin issyu, the compilation of 100 wakas composed by 100 poets, are edited there.
The passages
In the passage, maple trees in pale vermilion make a tunnel to get to the main hall. It is called “Stable of Autumn leaves.”
Around the main hall, we can enjoy vivid red leaves.
