Korin-in temple is a zen temple belongs to Daitokuji temple. It is open to public in spring and fall. It is the most underrated place though it provides us with the best Autumn leaves on the planet.

It shows us reflection of the leaves on the table.
In Japan, we love reflection of something on water, table, and so on.
This year, night illumination is not available.
The best time to visit is from late November to early December.

Take Kyoto City bus 204, 205, 206, 101, 102 and get off at Daitokuji mae bus stop.
#4 Rokuoin temple 鹿王院
Introduction 概説
Rokuoin is founded by Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, the 3rd Shogun of Ashikaga Shogunate and the founder of Kinkakuji temple.
It is a small temple in Arashiyama and quite a few people visit it. In 2019, Night illumination was held with reservation.
The leaves gradually turns their colors take our breath away. In Shariden (the building in the photo), the teeth of Buddha is enshrined.
Buddha’s words came out of his mouth.
In 2020, we can enjoy night illumination. Make reservation! (Japanese language only)
The best time to visit is from late November to early December.
How to get to Rokuoin temple? 鹿王院へのアクセス
3 minutes’ walk from Randen Rokuoin station and 10 minutes’ walk from Randen and Hankyu Arashiyama station.

#5 Jiskishi an temple 直指庵
Introduction 概説
Jikishian is a small temple located north to Daikakuji temple. There usually are few visitors because it is not easy to get there. The temple has small bamboo forests and beautiful leaves.
It is not open to us everyday. Check the website of Jikishian. (Japanese language only)
In 2020, at least it is close by the end of October.
