Takayama 鷹山
In Edo period, a Typhoon dameged Takayama and forced out it of Yamaboko parade. After that, it caught by fire. Only left to Takayama are three Goshintai and a dog figurine.
A figurine with a bird, is Arihara no Narihira, a famous poet and court noble in the 9th century. A figurine in the center has a Chimaki in his hands. They are movable and it pretends to eat it. Due to this gimmick, Takayama sells Chimaki to eat. The right figurine is Inutsukai.
At Kaisyo, we have many Kawii things.

In 2019, Takayama is to come back to Yamaboko parade for the first time in 193 years! Congratulations and welcome back!!!

Special Gosyuin stamp is available. THIS YEAR ONLY!

Hashi Benkei yama tells the encounter of Ushiwaka maru and Benkei. They met each other for the first time on the Gojo bridge, a bridge known as Matsubara bashi. Benkei was on the bridge every day and had a sword fight with Samurai he met. When he won, he had a sword of enemies. He collected 999 swords and 1000th man he saw was Ushiwakamaru. Ushiwakamaru defeated completely him and he decided to serve him.
Suzuka yama 鈴鹿山
Suzukayama shows us a story in which Seoritsuhime no Mikoto, a Shinto Deity, defeated Oni. Oni is an imaginary creature who do evil to people.
Goshintai is Seoritsuhime and she is the most beautiful lady in Yamoaboko of Gion matsuri. She is on Suzukayama with mask but a small figurine of her doesn’t wear it.

As same as Kitakanno Yama, Minami Kannon Yama has Yoryu Kannnon as Goshintai.
It has also a figurine of Zensai Dohi as Goshintai. He was a famous truth-seeker.

Sihjo Ofuneboko 四条大船鉾
We have two Funeboko in Gion matsuri; Funeboko of Sakimatsuri and Ohfuneboko of Atomatsuri.
Both of them has a statue of Empress Jingu as Goshintai. In Funeboko, she is in aromour because she is on attack. On the other hand, She was on the way to home after triumph in Ohfuneboko and she is not in armour.
In Kaisho, we can see authentic decorations of Ohfuneboko. In Yamaboko parade, it is in replicas.
You might see figureheads. Ofuneboko has one of them every other year. 2019 it has the right one.
