Mitsu tsuji crossing 三つ辻
Turn right
Just walk straight and we are at at the crossing. Turn right.
Sometimes, we encounter Cryptids. Now we are en route to the sacred places, everything we never expected could happen.
Rest room トイレ
There are two rest rooms in Mt. Inari. One of them is here.
Otsuka お塚
After rest rooms, there are small shrines. They are called Otsuka(s). Meiji government banned Shinbutsu-syugo but failed to invade what inside of the people. They made small shrines in the mountain without permissions of government or Fushimi Inari.
Kodamaga Ike (Shin Ike) pond and Kumataka Sha 谺ヶ池(新池)と熊鷹社
Kodamaga Ike 谺ヶ池
We climb up steeple stairs to reach Shin Ike pond and Kumataka Sha.
If you have someone missing, crap your hands around the pond. You can find a clue in a direction the echo comes from.
Kumataka Sha 熊鷹社
Kumataka sha is popular among eating and drinking business people.
Yotsu-tsuji crossing 四つ辻
We have a good view here. It is the best place to take a rest.
Around the crossing, we have restaurants. We can enjoy Japanese traditional foods here. The one in the photo is closed because it was early in the morning.
We have 2 ways to take; Go straight or turn left. The authentic way is the former. We go straight.
Ohsugi Sha and Ganriki Sha 大杉社と眼力社
Ohsugi Sha 大杉社
In Ohsugi Sha, a cedar tree is a Goshintai where the deity descends to.
Ganriki Sha 眼力社
The word “Ganriki” means “The power/ability of eyes”. This meaning turned into “The ability to foresee the future (mostly in business).
We wash our hands before Gankiri sha. Mt, Inari gives us a plenty of water. It reminds us of the faith ancient people have.
